Founder Profile
Sibonginkosi Mathunjwa: “The Sound of Heaven”

Who He Is
Sibonginkosi Mathunjwa is a born-again Christian believer, minister, worship leader, teacher of the Word and founder of The Sound of Heaven movement.
Born and raised in Eswatini in a family of pastors and God-fearing parents, his spiritual foundation was established from an early age through discipline, accountability and exposure to ministry life.

Music & Early Calling
His musical journey began at the age of 12 after being inspired during a visit to Zimbabwe, where his father was pursuing further studies.
Before having access to a real instrument, he creatively used wooden planks as a makeshift piano: a reflection of the passion and calling that would later shape his ministry journey.
Remarkably, he learned music by ear and replication without formal training. His passion continued to grow as he connected with like-minded peers in Nhlangano in the Southern region of Eswatini.
Education & Spiritual Growth
While pursuing his LLB degree at the University of Swaziland in 2004, his understanding of ministry and worship deepened significantly.
His ministry perspective expanded while studying law and engaging deeply with Christian fellowship and worship.
He encountered a move of the Holy Spirit that shifted his passion from simply playing music to ministering before God and people.
His prayer life intensified, and he evolved from instrumentalist into worship leader and eventually a minister of the Word.
A passion for reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A strong prayer foundation and burden for spiritual impact.
A commitment to raising, training and strengthening believers.

The Sound of Heaven Movement
As ministry continued to grow, he established a movement known as The Sound of Heaven.
The movement focused on teaching the Word of God, raising disciples, soul-winning campaigns, rural outreaches, intercessory prayer, mentorship and spiritual growth.
Together with a team of passionate and anointed believers, various outreach initiatives were carried out across communities and rural areas.

Ministry & Leadership Journey
He became actively involved in missionary work through Student Christian Movement networks, travelling across Southern Africa for ministry assignments and Gospel outreach initiatives.
As his calling expanded, he encountered Apostle B. Thwala, who played a significant role in mentoring and launching him further into ministry beyond his comfort zone.
Through these experiences, he connected with ministers from different backgrounds and built meaningful ministry relationships across the region. One of the platforms that emerged from this journey was a networking and ministry initiative known as “This Gospel”, created to connect ministers and encourage Kingdom collaboration.

Family
In 2018, Prophet SboKing married his wife, affectionately known as Duchess Atsy.
Together they are blessed with two daughters and one son. Their family continues to serve as a reflection of faith, partnership and Kingdom purpose.
